Derek MacDonald - Who is he



Alstons B.C. Ltd has experienced some changes lately as you will have noticed from our front page item. We are aware that a number of our customers have not known the company structure in the past. We're sure most of you know Gordon Alston ,who can be seen on the far left of this photo, was a director of the company. You may be less aware that Derek MacDonald, who can be seen on the far right of this photo, has also been a director of the company since 2007. Gordon has resigned from the company with effect from 19th March 2010. Derek continues as the managing director and has since appointed Frances MacDonald as a director to assist him. John Foster has mainly taken over the sales roll and is in the process of visiting our customers, however if you need to speak to him before he sees you please do not hesitate to contact us. We are confident that the changes we have made and the changes planned for the near future will have a very positive effect on both our business and yours.

New JLG Super Compact 2505 Telehandler wins Medal of Merit


JLG Industries, Inc., an Oshkosh Truck Corporation company and a leading manufacturer of aerial work platforms and telescopic material handlers, announced today that its innovative new super-compact 2505 Telehandler, the 2.5t-capacity model, was judged as one of the ‘best new products’ when it was unveiled at the LAMMA agricultural equipment show in Newark (Nottingham), UK. The new machine which weighs less than 5t, yet has a maximum lift capacity of 2.5t, and lift height of 5.6m. Its major features are the compact packaging, with an overall width of 1.8m and height of only 1.9m and the spacious cabin, which contributed to its accreditation. The machine is perfectly fitted for work in extremely confined spaces, such as inside poultry sheds and low barns for farmers, and in busy distribution yards in the building materials and construction industry. Another major attraction as a compact utility machine is that as well as its own comprehensive range of purpose-designed attachments, it for example, has an optional universal adaptor plate which enables it to take most skid-steer attachments.
